Did you know that over 25 million, all ages and genders in the US have suffered with an eating disorder and that 95% of those are between the ages of 12-25? Eating disorders have multi-dimensional components including individual, family and social implications. Come learn from an expert about warning signs, symptoms, development, and treatment of these prevalent (and often hidden) disorders. This workshop was presented by the Director of Cambridge Eating Disorder Center (Cambridge, MA) as a gift to our community. The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center (CEDC)

strives to provide the highest quality continuum of care in a non-institutional community setting to both males and females suffering from eating disorders. Founded in 2000 by Dr. Seda Ebrahimi, CEDC initially offered outpatient services as well as an adult evening intensive outpatient program. In 2004, we began offering New England’s first and only evening intensive outpatient program to adolescents between the ages of 12 and 17. Due to the success of our programs and the need for more intensive programs, CEDC started its Partial Hospital treatment program for adolescents and adults. Our continuum of care continued with the opening of our residential program for adolescent girls and women in August of 2006. Today, our 25-bed Residential Program serves females ages 12 and older in an attractive, non-institutional facility in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Completing our continuum was the opening of our Transitional Living facility, located steps away from our original building. Transitional Living offers a supportive living environment for adult women. Our unique and serene facilities have earned the reputation for fostering tranquility and recovery, contributing to its growth from being a regional program to a nationally recognized program.
 
The Cambridge Eating Disorder Center is accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission gold seal of approval is a nationally recognized symbol of quality. Organizations that earn The Joint Commission’s accredidation have met rigorous performance standards.
