March 30, 2017 at Lareau Farm, RT 100, Waitsfield, VT

You can help build a strong network of support for youth in our community who may be experiencing difficulties.  Sign up for the Youth Mental Health First Aid Training to be held on Thursday, March 30th at Lareau Farm Inn, 8:30-4:00.

Hannah’s House and Washington County Youth Service Bureau have partnered to offer this nationally acclaimed course designed for parents, family members, school staff, coaches, first responders, and other caring adults who regularly interact with adolescents and want to know how to best help when problems arise.

Youth Mental Health First Aid USA is a public education program which introduces participants to typical youth development and some common mental health challenges young people aged 12-18 may experience.  Topics covered include anxiety, depression, substance use, disorders in which psychosis may occur, disruptive behavior disorders (including AD/HD), and eating disorders.

This training stresses the importance of early intervention, and teaches adults how to best help an adolescent find the support they need in both non crisis and crisis situations by applying a core five step action plan.

The training is free of charge, lunch and workbook included.  To reserve a spot, please email Barbara  bcgarvin@gmail.com or call Hannah’s House @ 496-9715 and leave a message.
